The Story That Turned an Accident Site into a Shrine

The story begins in 1988, when Om Singh Rathore, a resident of the Pali region, was riding his motorcycle from Sanderao to Chotila. Sadly, he lost control of the bike and passed away at the very same spot where the temple stands today.

What happened after the accident surprised everyone. The police took the motorcycle into custody and kept it at the station. However, the bike reportedly kept disappearing from the police station and was repeatedly found back at the accident site. Authorities even tried draining the fuel tank and chaining the motorcycle, but it still returned to the same place.

Unable to explain the mystery, locals began to believe that Om Banna’s spirit had become the protector of travelers on that road.

The Birth of the Bullet Baba Temple

Over time, a shrine was built at the spot, now known as the Om Banna Temple (Bullet Baba Temple), located on the Jodhpur–Pali highway near Chotila. The motorcycle itself became the center of worship, making it one of the most unique temples in India.

Today, thousands of travelers—especially bikers—stop at the temple before continuing their journey. Devotees offer flowers, red sacred threads, and sometimes even alcohol, which is believed to please Om Banna’s spirit. Many people believe that seeking his blessings helps prevent accidents and ensures a safe journey.
